| Reverse description | The reverse presents a finely detailed facing portrait of Romanian novelist Henriette Yvonne Stahl, rendered in high-relief against a mirror-polished background. Her hair is drawn back plainly and she is depicted with a composed, direct gaze, characteristic of early twentieth-century portraiture. A stylised abstract bird or feather motif appears in the upper right field, complementing the literary theme of the coin. The arched legend HENRIETTE YVONNE STAHL is inscribed along the upper rim. To the right of the portrait, the birth and death years 1900 and 1984 are displayed in two lines. Below the portrait, in the lower field, appears a facsimile of the subject's handwritten signature: Henriette I. Stahl. |

| Additional information |
Henriette Yvonne Stahl wrote her landmark novel Între zi și noapte in 1942, a work that sat awkwardly with the postwar communist regime — her introspective, psychologically dense fiction had little use to socialist realism's demands. She was largely sidelined for decades before a cautious rehabilitation late in her life. This commemorative issue arrives on the centenary of her literary debut, positioning her alongside the broader NBR series honoring Romanian cultural figures who were suppressed or marginalized under communist rule.
