| Reverse description | The central field features the denomination 10 ΛΕΠΤΑ (10 Lepta) inscribed in two lines within an open wreath of laurel and olive branches tied at the base with a ribbon bow. The surrounding legend, reading clockwise from the lower left, bears the inscription ΚΥΒΕΡΝΗΤΗΣ Ι. Α. ΚΑΠΟΔΙΣΤΡΙΑΣ (Governor I. A. Kapodistrias), referencing the first Governor of Greece, Ioannis Kapodistrias. The date 1831 appears in the lower exergual area, flanked by two raised dots. The entire design is contained within a finely executed beaded border. |

| Additional information |
The Hellenic State's copper coinage of 1831 was struck at a moment of acute institutional fragility — Ioannis Kapodistrias, the first governor of independent Greece, had been assassinated in October of that year, plunging the country into civil conflict before a viable monetary system had fully taken root. Production was handled at the Aegina mint, Greece's first modern mint, established just years earlier in 1829. Mintages were modest and distribution uneven across a country still contested by rival factions.
KM#12 pieces that circulated did so hard, and uncirculated survivors are genuinely scarce.
