Turkey's first post-coup banknote series — issued following the May 1960 military intervention that deposed Adnan Menderes — used designs printed by Thomas De La Rue in London while domestic printing infrastructure was modernized. This 10 Lira variant is distinguished by the absence of a "SERİ" prefix before the serial number, a feature present on later printings within the same Pick type. The distinction matters for collectors because the two variants were produced across different print runs, and the unserialized format is the scarcer of the two.
