| Obverse description | Central field depicts the iconic arched Main Gate of the American University of Beirut rendered in high relief, with detailed stonework and decorative scroll motifs framing the arch. An agate insert occupies the aperture of the gateway, simulating the open passageway. The legend 'BANQUE DU LIBAN' appears along the upper portion of the field, with the denomination '١٠ ليرات' (10 Livres) and date '2016 / ٢٠١٦' inscribed in both Latin and Arabic numerals. A cedar tree, the national symbol of Lebanon, is featured at the lower section of the design. |
