Obverse description Draped bust of Persephone facing left, her hair bound with a wreath of grain ears, adorned with a single-pendant earring and a necklace; a long torch is depicted vertically in the right field. The goddess is rendered in the refined Hellenistic style characteristic of late Syracusan coinage, with finely modeled facial features and elaborately arranged hair.
