| Obverse description | Crowned Portuguese royal arms displayed prominently in the center of the field, featuring the traditional escutcheon with five bezants and a bordure of castles, surmounted by an ornate royal crown. The arms are flanked by elaborate baroque-style scroll mantling. The encircling legend reads JOSEPHUS·I·D·G·REX·P·ET·D·GUINEÆ· in raised Latin lettering, identifying King Joseph I of Portugal by the Grace of God. The entire design is framed by a finely milled border. |
