| Obverse description | Diademed and draped bust of a ruler facing right, rendered in a late antique barbarous style characteristic of post-Roman Ravenna municipal coinage. The portrait displays a radiate or turreted crown, with visible drapery at the shoulder. The facial features are boldly if somewhat crudely struck, reflecting the provincial engraving tradition of mid-sixth century Italy.
