| Obverse description | Central field features a stylised coat of arms depicting a sailing ship on a shield flanked by laurel and palm branches, surmounted by a spread eagle. The denomination '10' appears prominently in the upper field, with the date '2017' to the left and 'peso' to the right at mid-field. The curved legend 'Libertad Isla' arcs across the upper periphery in Latin script, while the Cyrillic legend 'Остров Свободы' (Island of Freedom) curves along the lower periphery. A ribbon scroll at the base of the arms bears the motto 'La verdad os hará libres' (The truth shall set you free). |

Cuba's CUC-era collector issues, produced largely for the tourist and numismatic export market, were never intended for domestic circulation — ordinary Cubans transacted in the parallel peso cubano, a system that created two entirely separate monetary economies operating simultaneously on the same island until the dual-currency framework was formally abolished in 2021.
