| Reverse description | The bimetallic reverse features the central nickel silver disc bearing a detailed rendition of the Aztec sun stone (Piedra del Sol), with the face of the solar deity Tonatiuh wearing a fire mask rendered in relief at its centre, surrounded by concentric rings of calendrical glyphs. The aluminium bronze outer ring bears the denomination numeral $10 at the top, the mint year and the Mexico City Mint mark Mo to the left and right respectively, and the value in words DIEZ PESOS along the lower arc. A series of inverted-L shaped ornamental devices runs along the inner rim of the ring on most examples. |
