Comments

The Consell General issued this note during the Spanish Civil War, when the disruption of trade routes into Andorra created a genuine small-change shortage. It is one of the very few paper currency issues ever produced by Andorra itself — the co-principality had no tradition of domestic note printing, and the provisional nature of the series reflects exactly how improvised the whole exercise was.

Printed locally under extremely modest conditions, the notes show it. Paper quality and printing registration vary considerably across surviving examples, a known characteristic of the issue rather than damage to individual notes.
