The 1996 series from the Central Bank of Oman was printed during a period of considerable design consolidation for Omani currency — De La Rue had held the printing contract essentially continuously since Oman established its post-Saidi monetary system in the early 1970s. The 10 Rial denomination sat near the top of everyday transactional use, making it one of the more heavily circulated values in the series.
Pick 36 is not scarce. Notes that have seen genuine use tend to show it along the fold lines, where the paper responds predictably to Oman's humidity.
