| Obverse description | Red guilloche border with ornate corner vignettes frames a central oval cartouche containing the payment text in pre-reform Cyrillic script. The small Imperial coat of arms of the Russian Empire is set within a circular medallion at the top centre, above the oval. The year '1840' appears in bold numerals at both upper corners, and the denomination numeral '10' is printed at the bottom centre beneath the oval, with the bank's title ГОСУДАРСТВЕННЫЙ КОММЕРЧЕСКІЙ БАНКЪ inscribed in letterpress at the head of the central cartouche. |

| Reverse lettering | ИЗВЛЕЧЕНІЕ ИЗЪ ПРАВИЛЪ О ДЕПОЗИТНЫХЪ ВКЛАДАХЪ I. Депозитная Касса выдаетъ въ замѣнъ вкладовъ, билеты, которымъ присвояется хожденіе монеты по всей Имперіи наравнѣ съ серебряною монетою, безъ всякого лажа, по всѣмъ внутреннимъ платежамъ и обязательствамъ какъ частныхъ лицъ съ казною и кредитными установленіями, и взаимно казны и кредитныхъ установленій съ частными лицами, такъ равно сихъ послѣднихъ между собою. II. По предъявленіи билета въ Депозитную Кассу, предъявителю выдается немедленно подлежащее количество серебряной монеты. III. Поступающая въ Депозитную Кассу монета хранится неприкосновенно, подъ отвѣтственностію Коммерческого Банка и подъ наблюденіемъ Совѣта Государственныхъ Кредитныхъ Установленій, и ни на какой иной расходъ, какъ только для обратнаго промѣна не употребляется. IV. Пересылка билетовъ Депозитной Кассы чрезъ почту производится съ платежемъ страховыхъ денегъ съ суммы и вѣсовыхъ съ пакетовъ. V. За поддѣльку ихъ поступать по тѣмъ же узаконеніямъ, какія существуютъ на счетъ поддѣлки Государственныхъ бумагъ. |
