Obverse description Blue on multicolour underprint with intricate guilloche borders and architectural vignettes of dagobas at upper right. Intaglio portrait of King George VI in military uniform at left, with Sinhalese and Tamil script inscriptions flanking the central text panel. Denomination "TEN RUPEES" printed in large letterpress at centre, with the date 1st February 1941 below.

Reverse description Printed in blue on multicolour underprint, the reverse is dominated by a detailed vignette of the Temple of the Tooth (Sri Dalada Maligawa) in Kandy, rendered with fine engraved linework against a lightly tinted background. Denomination numerals "10" appear at upper left and right within guilloche panels, with Sinhalese and Tamil script value inscriptions in cartouches at lower left and right. The legend "TEMPLE OF THE TOOTH" is inscribed below the central vignette.
