| Obverse lettering | POST OFFICE NATIONAL SAVINGS CERTIFICATE NOT TRANSFERABLE except with the permission of the Head Postmaster 10 TEN RUPEES NS/ A 16 TEN RUPEES 10 This is to certify that XXXXXXXXXX is registered at the XXXXXXXXX Post Office as the holder of a Post Office 12 Year National Savings Certificate, issued in accordance with the terms of the Notification number printed on reverse, and subject to the Application and Declaration of the Purchaser which shall be the basis of this Contract. The Government of India undertake to pay to him, on presentation of this Certificate at the aforesaid Post Office on or after the XXXXXXXXX, or at any earlier date after the expiry of three years the sum not exceeding Rs. 15/- specified on the reverse of this Certificate as due on such date. | Reverse description | Plain cream reverse with a dark red guilloche border matching the obverse. The left half carries a printed redemption table listing accrued values from Rs. 10-8-0 after three complete years up to Rs. 15-0-0 at maturity in year twelve, under the heading "NOT ENCASHABLE TILL END OF THIRD YEAR". The right half contains the "RECEIPT ON DISCHARGE" panel with manuscript completion fields for payment amount, date, and holder's signature. A statutory notification reference is printed in small capitals across the foot. |
