| Obverse description | Orange letterpress-printed certificate on white paper, with the Ashoka Pillar emblem at top centre flanked by the title TEN YEAR NATIONAL PLAN CERTIFICATE in an ornate guilloche border. The denomination 10 appears in large figures at left and right, with Ashoka column vignettes at both sides. The central text field carries the contractual undertaking of the Government of India. |

The Government of India undertake to pay him, on presentation of this Certificate at the aforesaid Post Office on or after the XXXXXXXXX Rs. 14/8 or at any earlier date after the expiry of twelve months the sum not exceeding Rs. 14/8 specified on the reverse of this Certificate as due on such date.
