Comments

By 1968, Bank Indonesia had been printing domestically for over a decade, and this note reflects the practical constraints of that setup. Pertjetakan Kebajoran — the state printing works in Jakarta — was never on par with Bradbury Wilkinson or De La Rue in technical output, and the lithographic quality of the Sudirman series shows it. Registration inconsistencies are common across the run, and the single watermark security feature was already considered minimal by contemporary standards elsewhere.

Designer Sadjiroen's involvement places this within a deliberate push toward fully Indonesian production — artistic credit included. The note was demonetized before inflation rendered the 10 Rupiah denomination meaningless in practical terms, though the currency chaos of the late Sukarno years had already badly eroded public confidence in low-value paper.
