Reverse description A mermaid figure in an elaborate headdress of fruits and flowers occupies the central vignette, rendered in a refined intaglio style typical of the period. The town of Dürnstein, with its distinctive ruined castle on the rocky hillside above the Danube, forms the landscape background. The designer's and engraver's credits appear in the lower margin.
