Obverse description Portrait of King George VI in military uniform set within an oval vignette at left, flanked by the denomination numeral '10/-' in each upper corner and repeated at lower corners. The title 'GOVERNMENT OF JAMAICA' arches across the top, with the legend 'CURRENCY NOTES ARE LEGAL TENDER FOR THE PAYMENT OF ANY AMOUNT' below it, and 'TEN SHILLINGS' in bold letterpress at centre. A large guilloche rosette occupies the right field, with the date and Chairman's signature inscribed at centre, and the printer's imprint 'THOMAS DE LA RUE & COMPANY LIMITED, LONDON' at the foot.
