| Reverse description | The reverse is struck in bi-metallic format with a gold-plated outer ring and a polished silver center. The silver inner field depicts a figural group in high relief illustrating the Fifth Commandment: a seated mother offering a flower to a young child while a standing father looks on, conveying familial devotion and parental honor. An English translation legend, 'Honor your father and mother', arcs across the upper inner field. Below the scene the inscription 'IV. Lex' identifies the commandment, above a pair of stone tablets bearing Roman numerals I through X denoting all Ten Commandments. The Latin legend HONORA PATREM TUUM ET MATREM TUAM is incused in the gold-plated ring, flanked by decorative rosettes, with the date 2009 in the lower exergue. |
