| Obverse description | Central device features the state emblem of the Mongolian People's Republic (1960–1992), depicting a horseman riding across a landscape beneath radiating sunbeams, all within a shield flanked by wheat sheaves and framed by a socialist star at the apex. The Cyrillic legend БНМАУ (Бүгд Найрамдах Монгол Ард Улс) appears on a scroll across the lower portion of the shield and is repeated as an outer legend along the lower rim. The date 1984 is inscribed in the lower field between the emblem and the rim legend. The entire design is bordered by a decorative meander (Greek key) pattern running along the inner rim. |
