Resplendor is a small municipality in the Doce River valley of Minas Gerais, and the "Ubérrimas" is a social currency — a moeda social — issued under the Brazilian complementary currency movement that gained momentum after federal legislation in 2013 opened regulatory space for community banks to formalize such instruments.
