| Obverse description | Printed in purple/violet ink in the standard American Express travelers cheque format, with a vignette of a Roman centurion at left and a circular guilloche seal bearing the denomination "DM 100" at right. The upper and lower borders carry bilingual inscriptions in English and German, with MUSTER/SPECIMEN/VOID overprints applied diagonally across the face. A low specimen serial number appears at lower left, consistent with a printer's reference example produced by Giesecke & Devrient. |
