British Honduras issued very few notes of this denomination, and surviving examples of the 1894 series are exceptionally rare. The colonial government's high-value paper currency saw limited practical use in a small-trade economy where most large transactions were settled through bills of exchange or specie rather than local government notes.
De La Rue's production records confirm London printing for this series. The watermark — the primary security measure on these early colonial issues — was integral to the De La Rue stock paper rather than applied separately.
P#6 is among the scarcest entries in the entire British Honduras Pick catalogue.
