Obverse description The obverse is engraved in a predominantly dark blue-black intaglio style on a light guilloche underprint. At left center, an oval vignette contains a portrait of King George V in military dress uniform. The denomination '100' appears in large numerals at each corner, with the central value panel rendered in ornate guilloche. Inscriptions read 'BANK OF CANADA', 'OTTAWA, ISSUE OF 1935', and 'WILL PAY TO THE BEARER ON DEMAND', with two manuscript facsimile signatures of bank officers appearing below the central numeral panel.
