| Obverse description | The obverse features the official seal of the Republic of the Marshall Islands rendered in high relief at the center of the field. The seal depicts a traditional Marshallese figure with outstretched wings flanked by a sailing canoe to the right and palm-fringed islets to the left, with a radiant sun above. Two diagonal lines frame the central device, and a navigation chart motif appears in the lower portion of the seal below the date 1988, above the word SEAL in a cartouche. The circular legend REPUBLIC OF THE MARSHALL ISLANDS arcs along the upper periphery, while the national motto JEPILPILIN KE EJUKAAN curves along the lower periphery, all separated by a decorative chain border. |
