| Obverse description | The obverse features a stylized, modern graphic composition across the field. The legend ESPAÑA curves along the upper portion in large decorative lettering, while the denomination 100 ECU is prominently displayed in bold relief in the lower half. A circular cartouche at center contains the crowned Madrid bear-and-strawberry-tree emblem with the date 1992 above, flanked by a ring of twelve stars representing the European Community at right, and three small circles at left.
