Obverse description Central field features an olive branch wreath encircling the five interlocked Olympic rings, above which appears the legend ΑΘΗΝΑ 2004 in the upper field. The denomination 100 ΕΥΡΩ is inscribed along the lower portion within an inner circle. The outer border is decorated with twelve five-pointed stars evenly spaced around the circumference, referencing the European Union.

Reverse description Central field depicts a detailed view of the Panathenaic Stadium (Kallimarmaro) in Athens, the venue of the first modern Olympic Games in 1896 and the 2004 Athens Olympics. The stadium is shown in perspective from above, surrounded by an olive wreath. The legend ΠΑΝΑΘΗΝΑΪΚΟ ΣΤΑΔΙΟ arcs along the upper field and the founding date 1896 appears in the lower field, all enclosed within a beaded inner circle bordered by twelve stars.
