Additional information

KM#6a is the silver proof variant of a circulation type that Bahrain had been issuing since the early 1970s, struck by the Bahrain Monetary Agency during a period when Gulf states were actively cultivating prestige coinage programs aimed at collectors rather than commerce. The .925 silver proof format was a deliberate departure — the base circulation 100 Fils was struck in copper-nickel, making this an explicit collector issue rather than an upgraded circulation strike.

Named for Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, who ruled Bahrain from independence in 1971 until his death in 1999.
