| Obverse description | Three giant eland antelopes (Taurotragus derbianus) depicted in dynamic profile, their elongated spiral horns filling the upper field in an elegant overlapping composition engraved by G.B.L. Bazor. The animals are rendered in fine relief against a plain field, conveying a sense of motion and natural vitality characteristic of French colonial coinage art. The upper legend reads ETAT DU CAMEROUN, with the motto PAIX · TRAVAIL · PATRIE arching below it along the inner border. The bilingual English translation PEACE · WORK · FATHERLAND appears in the lower field, and the legend BANQUE CENTRALE curves along the bottom rim. The engraver's signature G.B.L.
