Additional information

Uganda has no historical or cultural connection to the Chinese zodiac, and the Bank of Uganda never authorized this piece for circulation. These "Lingsshil" zodiac issues — the denomination itself is meaningless in any Ugandan monetary context — were produced in the early 2000s by private minting operations exploiting the willingness of smaller sovereign authorities to lend nominal legitimacy to souvenir pieces aimed at the Asian collectibles market.
