Obverse description Central field bears an ornate Ottoman-style Arabic calligraphic legend reading 'Jumhuriyat Turkiyah' (Republic of Turkey) with the Hijri date 1341 inscribed within the script. A stylised crescent motif formed by a curved wheat ear and a curved leaf or reed sprig arches across the upper and right portions of the field, framing the calligraphy. The entire design is enclosed within a fine inner beaded border running along the coin's circumference.

Additional information

The 100 Para was struck during the earliest years of the Turkish Republic, when Ankara was methodically dismantling Ottoman monetary conventions and building a new currency identity from scratch. These transitional issues preceded the formal lira system's consolidation and circulated alongside older Ottoman coinage still in public hands — an awkward overlap the new government was eager to resolve.
