| Obverse description | The obverse features the large numeral denomination '100' prominently in the left-center field, with the word 'PESETAS' inscribed below it. Isla de Pescadores — Fishermen's Island — is the Spanish name for Urado, a tidal islet off the coast of Equatorial Guinea that became the center of a dormant territorial dispute between Spain and Equatorial Guinea after the latter's independence in 1968. Spain's issuance of coins denominated in pesetas for non-sovereign or disputed territories in this period falls within a collector-targeted program with no circulation function whatsoever. The peseta itself had ceased to exist as legal tender a full decade earlier, replaced by the euro in 2002.
