Reverse description The central vignette presents a view of the Tribuna Antiimperialista "José Martí" in Havana, rendered in intaglio with a statue of José Martí in the foreground, arm outstretched in an oratory pose, standing before the structure's distinctive latticed steel arches, with city buildings visible in the background. A guilloche border frames the composition on both sides, and a numeral "100" cartouche is placed at the lower right. The caption panel at the base reads "TRIBUNA ANTIIMPERIALISTA 'JOSE MARTI' / CIUDAD DE LA HABANA", with "REPUBLICA DE CUBA" across the top border.

Comments

Cuba began printing its own banknotes domestically through Impresos de Seguridad relatively recently, having previously relied on foreign security printers. The 100 Peso denomination has been in continuous issue for decades, but by 2023 its real purchasing power had collapsed so severely under hyperinflationary conditions that it was functionally near-worthless in everyday transactions — the government's own price controls had long since broken down.

Pick 129 carries only basic security features for a note of this face value, a reflection of production constraints rather than oversight.
