Obverse description The silver centre features the Mexican national coat of arms — an eagle perched on a prickly pear cactus, holding a serpent in its beak and talons — rendered in high relief against a polished field. The aluminium bronze outer ring bears the national legend in raised Latin characters along the upper arc. Decorative oak and laurel branches flank the base of the central device within the ring, characteristic of the standard Mexican commemorative obverse design.
Obverse script Latin
Obverse lettering ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS
(Translation: United Mexican States)
