Obverse description Central bimetallic field features the Mexican national arms in high relief: an eagle displayed standing left on a cactus, devouring a serpent, rendered in the gold-coloured inner disc. The eagle is surrounded by an ornamental wreath of oak and laurel branches tied with a ribbon at the base. The circular legend ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS runs along the upper periphery of the silver outer ring in raised Latin letters. The proof finish gives exceptional contrast between the mirrored fields and frosted devices.
