| Obverse description | Purple intaglio printing on multicolor guilloche underprint in green and yellow. A central vignette presents the ruins of Persepolis (Takht-e Jamshid) framed by ornate latticework, with the numeral 100 in large Persian script at left. A circular portrait medallion at right bears a three-quarter-face bust of Reza Shah Pahlavi wearing his military cap, enclosed within an elaborate geometric border; the bank title بانک ملی ایران appears at top and serial number repeated at bottom. |

At upper centre, the bank title بانک ملی ایران is set within a foliate cartouche; a large central medallion carries the numeral ۱۰۰ in Persian digits over an intricate lathe-work background. A circular vignette at right contains the Imperial Lion-and-Sun emblem surmounted by a crown, while a matching circular panel at left bears the inscription صد ریال. The denomination 100 appears in Western numerals in each corner, and the date stamp in Solar Hijri is printed at lower centre; the imprint AMERICAN BANK NOTE COMPANY runs along the bottom margin. |
