Additional information

Ghalib ibn Ali al-Hinai was the last Imam of Oman, deposed in 1959 after the Jebel Akhdar War when Sultan Said bin Taimur, backed by British SAS forces, crushed the imamate rebellion in the interior. This coin was issued in 1971 — over a decade after Ghalib had been driven into exile in Saudi Arabia — as a political statement by a government-in-exile that no longer controlled a single square meter of Omani territory.

The X# prefix in Krause reflects its classification as a non-circulating or fantasy issue, minted abroad with no legal tender standing inside Oman.
