Syria has been issuing 100 Pound notes since the early decades of the Central Bank's existence, but the 1447 AH / 2025 CE date on this example makes it among the most recent issues from an institution that has functioned under extraordinary duress — the Central Bank continued formal operations throughout the civil war years despite infrastructure collapse, sanctions pressure, and a Syrian Pound that lost the overwhelming majority of its exchange value against the dollar after 2011.
The watermark remains the sole listed security feature, a threadbare specification for a note printed in the 2020s.
