Issued in 2023 to mark the centenary of the Turkish Republic, this note covers the 1923–1950 period — the Atatürk era and its immediate aftermath, ending just before the Democratic Party's election victory broke the single-party hold of the Republican People's Party. Royal Joh. Enschedé in Haarlem has printed Turkish banknotes across multiple series; the relationship is long-standing and predates the republic itself in terms of Ottoman-era contracts.
Paper composition for a commemorative issued this late is a deliberate choice — polymer had already been adopted elsewhere in Turkish series by this point, making the material specification here a conscious nod to the earlier decades being commemorated.
