| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Rwanda is centrally depicted in high relief, featuring a shield with traditional Rwandan motifs, flanked by two crossed sorghum plants, surmounted by a sun and a cog wheel, and supported by a knotted rope bearing the national motto. The legend BANKI NKURU Y'U RWANDA arcs along the upper rim, with the fineness mark AG 999 3oz to the left field and the date 2009 to the right field.
