| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Rwanda occupies the central field, rendered in high relief and featuring a traditional hut, sorghum and coffee plants, a sun, a shield, and two interlaced hands below bearing the national motto on a scroll; the arms are set within a raised inner border. The legend BANKI NKURU Y'U RWANDA arcs along the upper rim, while AMAFARANGA 1000 IGIHUMBI is inscribed along the lower rim.
