| Obverse description | The obverse is printed in tones of red, pink, green, and gold over a fine multicolour guilloche underprint. At centre, the arms of Guyana appear within an elaborate vignette, flanked on the right by a map of Guyana with natural resources annotated. Two tall latticed pylons frame the central design, while decorative foliate rosettes occupy the left and right margins. The denomination "ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS" is printed in large intaglio letterforms at centre, with "$1000" repeated at upper left and lower right; two facsimile signatures appear below the arms above the legend "THESE NOTES ARE LEGAL TENDER FOR THE PAYMENT OF ANY AMOUNT". |
