Obverse description Central intaglio portrait vignette of King Matthias Corvinus (Mátyás Király), the renowned 15th-century Hungarian Renaissance monarch, rendered in fine engraved detail against a guilloche underprint. The Hungarian coat of arms appears at the lower centre, while the Magyar Nemzeti Bank monogram is positioned in the upper left corner. The denomination "1000 EZER FORINT" and date of issue are inscribed along with the engraver's signature "VAGYÓCZKY K. DEL ET SC".

Reverse description The reverse presents an intaglio vignette of the Hercules Fountain from the Royal Palace of Visegrád, an outstanding example of Hungarian Renaissance architecture situated north of Budapest. To the right, a miniature illumination of a scribe at work is reproduced, referencing the scholarly and artistic patronage of the Corvinus court. The denomination and site identification inscriptions appear in letterpress, with the engravers' names noted below.
