| Obverse description | Right-facing diademed effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, modelled by Ian Rank-Broadley, whose initials IRB appear below the truncation of the neck. The portrait occupies the centre of the field, flanked by two small raised dots. The legend REPUBLIC OF CAMEROON curves along the upper periphery, with a small crown device at the apex; the denomination 1000 FRANCS CFA is inscribed along the lower periphery. The field is plain and polished, giving a prooflike finish. |
