| Obverse description | Four allegorical rural vignettes occupy the corners: at upper left and right, female figures in traditional Romanian dress are raised on pedestals amid decorative foliage, while at lower left and right seated peasant women with children are rendered in intaglio after compositions by Nicolae Grigorescu. A large central guilloche medallion is framed by an elaborate wheat-sheaf border, flanked by the denomination UNA MIE LEI in large letterpress type.
