(Translation: One Thousand Pesetas Generalitat de Catalunya The Treasury of the Generalitat recognizes in favor of the bearer the amount of One Thousand Pesetas by virtue of the Decree of July 5, 1950 Barcelona, August 10, 1950 Mandatory course banknote in Catalonia)
Reverse description Brownish-red note with a multi-element maritime vignette: a caravel under sail occupies the right foreground, while the Drassanes Reials (Royal Shipyards) of Barcelona and Montjuïc mountain form the central background, and a group of shipbuilders constructing a vessel appears to the left. Penalty inscriptions referencing the wartime decree of September 1936 are printed in Catalan below the central composition.
Reverse lettering 1000 PESSETES Qualsevol intent de resistència o falsificació per tal de dificultar o pertorbar la circulació d`aquests bitllets, serà castigat amb les màximes sancions aplicables en temps de guerra. (Article quart del Decret del 21 de setembre del 1936.)
(Translation: 1000 Pesetas Any attempt of resistance or counterfeiting in order to hinder or disrupt the circulation of these banknotes shall be punished with the maximum penalties applicable in war times. (Article four of the Decree of September 21, 1936).)
