Obverse description Central device featuring a stylized radiant sun with a schematic human face at its center, rendered in a modernist Pre-Columbian artistic idiom, with bold trapezoidal rays radiating outward to fill the field. Two small square ornamental devices flank the central motif at the three and nine o'clock positions. The legend URUGUAY arcs along the upper periphery, while MIL PESOS is inscribed along the lower periphery, both in large raised Latin letters separated from the central design by a raised inner border.
