Obverse description Central vignette of two ornately caparisoned elephants with a mahout standing at right, set against a pale guilloche underprint in shades of green and violet. A smaller processional elephant vignette appears at left, with the bank's emblem at centre. Trilingual inscriptions in Sinhala, Tamil, and English appear across the upper and lower registers, with the denomination numeral '1000' at lower right.
