| Obverse description | Central vignette presents the newly constructed Ramboda Tunnel set against a juxtaposed view of the original rock face at the same location, illustrating Sri Lanka's infrastructure development. To the right, a vignette of the Sri Lanka hanging parrot (Loriculus beryllinus) is rendered in full colour, while the white four-ring butterfly (Ypthima ceylonica) appears as an additional decorative motif. The composition is framed by fine guilloche underprint work characteristic of De La Rue intaglio printing. |
