Zanzibar has no independent central bank and issues no legal tender currency of its own — it uses the Tanzanian shilling. This note has no monetary authority behind it, no issuing institution in any regulatory sense, and no circulation history. It is a fantasy or novelty piece, produced entirely outside any official framework, which explains why a Slovak designer's name appears in the credits rather than any government printer or security printing house.
Gabris has produced similar privately-designed polymer pieces for other territories with contested or nominal sovereignty. Collectors should classify it accordingly.
